The practice of Christian Meditation helps us live with the peace of Christ. Find peace and rest during these guided meditations for mind and body with deep breathing, prayer, and Scripture. We recommend using these 5 Abide podcast episodes as a daily devotional in the morning to center yourself on the truth in God’s Word.
1. When Hope is Hard
It can be really difficult to keep hoping when things are hard, or you’ve been waiting a long time for something. Romans 15 tells us “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Join Abide narrator Melissa Disney as she leads you in this Abide meditation on Spotify about holding onto hope.
2. Do Not be Shaken
The unknown can be scary, but as Christians, we have a solid foundation in Jesus. Psalm 16:8 tells us, “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” So when your whole world seems to be turned upside down, you can stand firm because God never changes. He was and is and always will be your firm foundation.
3. Your Rock
If life feels particularly stormy right now, this Abide Christian Meditation will ground you in God’s refuge. In times of crisis, finding stability is key to maintaining composure. Take this opportunity to press pause from the fear and anxiety that comes from the unexpected, opening your heart to the Lord. Give it all to God, no matter what you’re going through. While it can often feel like your world is being tossed by overwhelming waves, know that you are anchored in this truth—God is a rock. As you click play and meditate on the words of 1 Samuel 7:12 remember that God is your ever present help.
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”1 Samuel 7:12
4. Seek Humility, Be Kind
Most of us would like to think of ourselves as kind and unselfish. But, if we are honest, we are not. In today’s world of selfies and shameless self-promotion, selfishness is rooted into our daily habits. How different would the world look if each of us pursued humility? What if we really went around believing in the dignity and value of each person we encountered, and started to look out for their interests? Listen to this Abide Christian Meditation podcast episode on Spotify, based on Philippians 2:3-4.
5. You are Worthy
If events in your past are robbing you of peace and joy, you’re not alone. Fortunately, God’s grace is more powerful than the past. As you listen to this podcast based on 2 Corinthians 3:4-5, let go of your past with every exhale. Stop obsessing over what you once were, but rather, remind yourself of who you are in Christ—a new creation. God promises to always forgive our sins, so there is no reason to live in guilt or shame. Click play and let’s thank God together, knowing that we are worthy and can rest easy in his eternal grace.
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.2 Corinthians 3:4-5
